Hello Mother Nature, thank you for the moisture, but a winter weather advisory for tonight into tomorrow? That seems a little rude considering the warm and almost snow-less winter you just gave us. I suppose I will just try to be happy that we are getting some water - we definitely need that!
Since last week, we've been very preoccupied with . . . Puppies! We are currently fostering 4 little fluff balls. They are so stinking cute. I can hardly stand it. If you're in the Denver area (or willing to go there for an adoption event) and looking for a larger fluffy breed(Anatolian shepherd mixes maybe?) puppy, they'll be available in about 2-3 weeks (through Colorado Puppy Rescue). ๐. This troop is so good, they will be hard to let go.

Restocks of The Uncommon Thread
|
It's always a treat to open boxes from The Uncommon Thread. This time we are refilling our Linum and New Merino DK shelves.
Linum is a summery light yarn. A lovely blend of alpaca, silk, and linen, each fiber adds something special. The silk lends a beautiful sheen, the alpaca a wonderful softness, and the linen both strength and durability. As a plant fiber, the linen does not absorb the dyes like the other fibers, adding a soft, heathery effect to each color. Perfect for lightweight tops, shawls, and accessories!
New Merino DK is a a beautifully dyed, bouncy DK weight yarn that has excellent stitch definition and rich tones. Ideal for cozy sweaters, cowls, hats, mitts, and scarves.

Laura brought her finished Stash Dive Raglan sweater to our Sudnay meet up, and it turned out gorgeous! I love the colors she chose for this. I have to say, it's so satisfying to see all the stash buster sweaters getting finished! She paired Cascade 220 with all her scraps LOVELY. Loopy Kudos, Laura!

My Orienta Shawl by Cory Boberg is finished. Whew. I still need to block it, but I'm pleased with how it came out. Subtle color differences make a nuanced striped section. Malabrigo Sock is lovely. I'm sure it will look even better once it's had a good wash and block!
My Astrid summer sweater (MIP46-Astrid by Quail Studio on Ravelry) using Mode at Rowan's Cotton DK gained some rows, but not as many as I would have liked (ahem, puppies take a lot of time). I am loving it though!
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine and the Loopy Ewe Crew
