Hello Loopy Friends!

Well, each of our four puppies found their fur-ever homes over the weekend. I loved this batch so hard!  Bob always talks about fostering the puppies in terms of the 'joy factor.'  How much joy is the process bringing at any given moment in time? Puppy pick up? 100% joy. Playing with puppies? 100% joy. Puppy late nights? Maybe 52% joy (it's exhausting!). Puppy spay/neuter day? 0% joy (I hate not feeding them in the morning and I feel like a traitor handing them over for surgery!). Puppy adoption day? 25% joy (100% joy that they find homes - but the sad factor weighs in heavily here).

I've started to think that maybe this 'joy factor' should be brought in to more aspects of life.  How much joy are the things we do each day bringing? I know not every action is going to bring happiness (grocery shopping, laundry, and bathrooms aren't going to take care of themselves after all), but what if we mindfully create space for joyful pockets each day? Knit or crochet - 100% joy (barring mistakes or other problems). Spend time outside. Have a meal with friends/family. More of THAT and less doom-scrolling please!  Everyone's joy factor list is different, but I we all should aim for more! What does your joy look like?

Shetland Wool Week Hat Kits

Shetland Wool Week releases their annual hat pattern each year. This year the hat is the Birsie Beanny by Helen Robertson. It was released a few weeks ago, but we've just received a shipment and were able to kit up a few sets.  The pattern (digital) can be purchased separately through the SWW website. (I believe physical patterns can be purchased at The Wooly Thistle). We have the official Jamieson & Smith colors for the Funky Colourway as a set, as well as a few 'CopyCat' sets for the other colourways, Sea Anemone, Heddery Hills and Nostalgia.

SunneShine Enamel Pins & Stitch Stoppers

SunneShine Enamel Pins. Sunne always has the best pins. We selected a few new pins and restocked a few we've had before. I'm sure you can find one or two to adorn your project bag or lapel. . .

Pride Pins! Sunne also brought an excellent line up of Pride Pins with her enamel pin selection. They are in the same listing as our regular Enamel Pins. You'll be ready to present as an ally this June with this bit of bling.

Stitch Stoppers. OMG. Some super cute new options here. LOVE them!  If you've been searching for a way to keep your stitches on your needles, protect your points, and stay stylish all at the same time, these are a great option.

On Our Needles

Dimi brought in her recently completed her La Mascarada Sweater by Catherine Rein. She used Dream in Color Smooshy and Malabrigo Sock.  SO PRETTY! It turned out great!  Loopy Kudos!

On My Needles

I've knit as far as my yarn on hand will allow for the Astrid summer sweater (MIP46-Astrid by Quail Studio on Ravelry) using Mode at Rowan's Cotton DK. Yarn should be here shortly, but I'm stick for the moment. The back is complete and I'm about 1/3 up the front. Don't worry. I have plenty of things to work on 🤣. As we speak, some boxes came in, so maybe my yarn is in there 🤞.

I've been itching to cast something on with the Feza Alp Natural, and so I caved to the temptation and started a Bram-Top by Ellen Ferderer. It's turning out so pretty! I love the color and texture changes. I will say, I am planning to weave in all the ends of yarn where it has been tied together, so that will also be an extra challenge.Kim and I made a video discussing this yarn and our projects (hers crochet and mine knit). You can check it out HERE on our YouTube channel!

Have an excellent and creative week!
