Hello Loopy Friends!

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend. We didn't do much - yard work, served as sleepover and backyard cookout support crew for our teens (they definitely have busier social lives than we do), and caught up (a bit) on household chores, but it was a glorious 3 days away from the regular daily tasks. A good break. And a little extra time to knit!

Even though the kids still officially have school today, it feels like summer has arrived. Yay! Roz is officially a senior (😳) and Luca a sophomore! So hard to believe. The neighborhood pool is open and the relaxed attitude that comes with late nights and sleeping in has begun. Flowers are blooming, gardens growing, and such nice weather! Good times. Vacation vibes.

What's New at The Loopy Ewe?

Sirdar Jewelspun Restocked

We restocked our Jewelspun Aran and Jewelspun Aran Ombre. These have been very popular acrylic yarns. They ARE very pretty and generous sized skeins of good quality acrylic. I've had a blanket for Meals on Wheels using this on my needles since December, if you recall. I'm about to pick it up again to get it done in time for this year!

That said, this might be a GREAT time to remind folks that we'll be collecting lap blankets to donate to our local Loveland Meals on Wheels in December.  If you are feeling the itch to donate one, now's a great time to get started. It can take awhile to finish!

Loopy Garden Camp Stickers & Bags

Camp participants can start knitting on June 1. That's Monday already!  I better get my act together and start winding up some yarn (ahem, and actually commit to a project, if I'm honest). If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out what Loopy Garden Camp is all about! We'll have fun challenges in June, July & August. Details on this year's Camp are on our Blog.

As for camp merch? We still have Loopy Garden Camp Stickers available. AND Lizz with Necessary Pancakes made us the CUTESTCamp Loopy Project Bags. Honestly, these are not just for camp. The bags feature embroidered Loopy on the outside and a fun outdoorsy fabric on the inside. The closure has a functional compass zipper pull!

Each bag is unique, but we've categorized them by the color of Loopy's socks. Within the color groups, there may be variation in the color of the compass on the zipper, the patterning on the Loopy embroidered fabric, and Loopy's woolly swirl colors. This bag is perfectly sized for a small project, like socks, a scarf or shawl, or a hat.

On Our Needles

Sandy brought in her beautiful The V-Back Tee (fingering) by Jamie Hoffman. She used the Feza Alp Natural, and it is so pretty!I love the color and texture changes. Sandy did a great job.  Loopy Kudos!

On My Needles

My Astrid summer sweater (MIP46-Astrid by Quail Studio on Ravelry) using Mode at Rowan's Cotton DK is complete. Why did I do all those stripes? The weaving in of ends took for.ev.er.  BUT, I do love the look of the stripes, and I'm happy with the outcome. I didn't follow directions well, and my neckline and arms are a bit different than the pattern, but it is A-OK with me!

I made only a bit of progress on my Bram-Top by Ellen Ferderer using Feza Alp Natural. Part of the issue was wanting to finish the Astrid and part of the issue was waffling on how long to make my bottom up body. I struggle with this every time. How long DO I want a shirt?  Additionally, this will be another one where I have a lot of ends to weave in. Knowing that, one would think I'd start weaving them in as I go. One would be wrong. . .   😬.  If you are curious about this yarn, Kim and I made a video discussing it and our projects (hers crochet and mine knit). You can check it out HERE on our YouTube channel!

Have an excellent and creative week!
