Bob and I took a couple days away in New Orleans to get out into the world and explore a bit. We had a lot of fun poking around the French Quarter mainly - though we did get out as far as the cemeteries and city park as well. Mother Nature smiled on us and gave us fantastic (hot and sunny) weather for walking around. We did our fair share of sweating, but we didn't have rain or storms to keep us inside. We stopped by the usual NoLa sites, and took a
few minutes to visit the Quarter Stitch, a lovely French Quarter yarn shop!
Our trip gave the puppies the opportunity to spend a few days with a different foster family, but rest assured, they are back and twice as sassy as before! They grow so fast! It's fun to watch them learn and explore.

Loopy Canvas Tote/Grocery Bags!
|
We restocked our Rainbow Handle Loopy Canvas Totes. This bag features our favorite sock-wearing sheep, Loopy. It's quite spacious and the fun rainbow handle makes me happy. This tote will work for groceries, larger projects or it can hold a lot of yarn! Made with recycled cotton canvas, the bag measures approximately 13" wide, 15" tall, and 8" deep.

Now that we have the Summer Solstice boxes out, it's time to focus on Autumn! We'll be accepting pre-orders for our Autumnal Equinox Box through July 31 or until we reach our cap, for delivery in September! The first two boxes have been so much fun to put together and ship out. I'll create an unboxing of the Summer box (Sarah & Dylan of Little Squirrel Yarn already made a video of the Vernal Equinox box - it's on our Youtube channel HERE).

Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl
|
SAVE THE DATE!!! The Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl runs August 1-9 this year. All shops will be open at least 10-5 EVERY DAY between August 1-9. It's about a week shorter than in past years, but you still have 2 full weekends to complete the crawl. It's HAK's Sweet 16 celebration. You won't want to miss out!
What do we have planned? - Little Squirrel Yarn Trunk Show August 1-2
- Necessary Pancakes Trunk Show August 1-2 (Bags will stay the full week but Lizz will only be there Saturday & Sunday)
- Twice Sheared Sheep Trunk Show August 1-9 (no TSS representative - purely an abundance of products, some of which we don't currently carry!)
- Door Prizes and a Grand Prize from each shop for completing the full crawl!
- We're
still pondering other fun things - but there will be snacks and community to enjoy!
Each shop has their own events, so check out the HAK Website, gather up some friends and get your road trip planned!

I finished my Boho Flower Top by Yeon Hwa Lee! It is too short for me to wear comfortably, so I'm trying to convince Roz that she likes it (so far she says the color is not her favorite). I would absolutely make another one (or similar) with the CaMaRose Lovetand. It's a great summer yarn. I'd just add some length.
I didn't work much on my Kleine Pause by Susanne Shahin, as I was so focused on the top. Sirdar Jewelspun Aran Ombre Yarn is colorful and easy to care for - perfect for children or charity knitting (or anything you need to be washable and easy care).
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine and the Loopy Ewe Crew
