I found myself with a full day in Denver waiting on puppies with a vet appointment, and I decided that, rather than shopping or facing crowds at the museums, I'd take a trip to Cherry Creek State Park. I'd never been. It was nice to get outside of the city while still inside the city. AND, it allowed me to get some work done while enjoying the outdoors away from too much hustle and bustle! It was a nice space to be.
The puppies are off to adoption this coming Saturday, and I'm so sad already. I know they will find excellent homes, but when I sit down and have to write their puppy bios, it reminds me how special each of them is. I love them all!

What's New at The Loopy Ewe?

Julie sent another gorgeous box of amazingly soft and colorful yarn. How am I supposed to keep my stash under control when she keeps providing such beauties? Her new base, Plush MCN is a luxurious blend of 70% Superwash Merino, 20% Cashmere and 10% Nylon. It is 100% what I want to wear next to my skin. So soft. Add in Julie's signature beautiful colors? Irresistible.

Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl
|
SAVE THE DATE!!! The Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl runs August 1-9 this year. All shops will be open at least 10-5 EVERY DAY between August 1-9. It's about a week shorter than in past years, but you still have 2 full weekends to complete the crawl. It's HAK's Sweet 16 celebration. You won't want to miss out! There are some super 'sweet' extras, and the mini skeins this year are beautiful.
What do we have planned? - Little Squirrel Yarn Trunk Show August 1-2
- Necessary Pancakes Trunk Show August 1-2 (Bags will stay the full week but Lizz will only be there Saturday & Sunday)
- Twice Sheared Sheep Trunk Show August 1-9 (no TSS representative - purely an abundance of products, some of which we don't currently carry!)
- Door Prizes and a Grand Prize from each shop for completing the full crawl!
- We're
still pondering other fun things - but there will be snacks and community to enjoy!
Each shop has their own events, so check out the HAK Website, gather up some friends and get your road trip planned!

We are so fortunate to have so many talented Knit and Crochet enthusiasts surrounding us. Every week I am wowed by the beautiful items people are making. It is genuinely inspiring. This week was no exception.
Laura brought in her beautiful Ranunculus by Midori Hirose made with CaMaRose Okologist Pimabomuld. That cotton is so soft, and the Ranunculous turned out so well! Thanks for sharing Laura! We've talked about doing a Ranunculous-along (a Ranunc-ulong?), but haven't put that fully out there yet - any interest?
Barbara brought in an amazing Woodhaven Hat by Plucky Knitter Design that she made using one of our Hat Kits sets from Plucky. Her's was a Plucky Primo Worsted. Such fun colors! Now I think I might need one of these hats! I've been itching to try the Plucky Legacy Worsted version!
AANNDDD we've had many beautiful camp projects come in - too many to show them all here! I may have to make an instagram post! Just know, if you submitted, I SEE YOU!!!
Gorgeous work everyone! Loopy Kudos to you all!

I finished a few more rows on my Kleine Pause by Susanne Shahin, but it's been slow going, as these puppies aren't going to snuggle themselves. Sirdar Jewelspun Aran Ombre Yarn is colorful and easy to care for - perfect for children or charity knitting (or anything you need to be washable and easy care).
I also started knitting a sample using the MakerWool Mini Skeins for the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl. I haven't gotten far, but these colors are GORGEOUS. Dawn (MakerWool) did an amazing job this year. I hope you are fortunate enough to be able to get them all, because there is not a one of these that I wouldn't knit a full sweater with. I'm making a Doodle Cowl using some of the cards from the Summer Doodle Deck. BUT, I'm thinking this isn't the best use for the yarn - as there isn't quite enough color contrast, so it may not show up very well. I may make a second cowl that is just stripes. The colors are so beautiful, and work well as a set. My picture isn't very accurate to them - they are much more lovely in person!
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine and the Loopy Ewe Crew
