Well, I'm out of town again and trying to get things done remotely, so I hope all goes smoothly! That makes a couple changes for this week - we may close early today (2:30 pm) and we definitely will close early tomorrow (Wednesday, July 15) at 5 pm - NO KNIT NIGHT! Other than that, our awesome staff is holding down the fort with brilliance (thank you Sarah, Sarah, Emily, Kim and Audrey!).
This is our annual trip to Michigan week. The drive from Colorado is not a short one, but it's one we know pretty well. We try to mix in some new experiences each time we make it. This year we stopped in Kalona, IA. What a pretty area! We are only part way through the trip, but it's been fun so far. The kids and I rode the Mac Woods Dune Rides in Silver Lake - thank you Jake for a fun ride! The Little Sable Lighthouse just up the road beautiful. We've been fortunate to have beautiful clear skies - but it is pretty hot. I guess that means it's time for more beach 🏖️ 😍.

2026 December Mystery Gnome-Along
|
Pre-order season for the December Mystery Gnome Knit-Along, Wee Three Gnomes, from Sarah Schira of Imagined Landscapes has arrived. Pre-orders for Yarn Sets, Goodie Sets and some very fun Extras are now open (July 14 – August 4, 2026). Full details are on our Blog Post HERE.
This is The Loopy Ewe’s 5th year providing Yarn, Goodies and Gnome-y Extras for this amazing adventure. The gnome-along storyline this year centers around Sarah’s Wee ThreeGnomes.
This year wee have 4 color set options in 2 weights (choose from Fingering or DK) from Little Squirrel Yarn again this year. Each set has been hand dyed on LSY's lovely Oak Sock or Walnut DK Base.
In addition to Yarn Sets, we offer a delight-filled Goodie Set again this year to pair with the Wee Three Gnomes Knit-Along. The Goodie Set contains 12 wrapped and numbered surprise packages for you!
We've brought back the popular Gnome Finishing Set, have brokenout a few popular items for sale individually. We also have Gnome bases on offer this year as a set of three. They may not be necessary if you opt to hang your gnomes as ornaments. That said, if that is your plan, we have Gnome Beaded Ornament Hangers too!! You decide what you want to do! Details for this year’s knit-along can be found on the imagined landscapes website.

Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl
|
SAVE THE DATE!!! The Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl runs August 1-9 this year. All shops will be open at least 10-5 EVERY DAY between August 1-9. It's about a week shorter than in past years, but you still have 2 full weekends to complete the crawl. It's HAK's Sweet 16 celebration. You won't want to miss out! There are some super 'sweet' extras, and the mini skeins this year are beautiful.
What do we have planned? - Little Squirrel Yarn Trunk Show August 1-2
- Necessary Pancakes Trunk Show August 1-2 (Bags will stay the full week but Lizz will only be there Saturday & Sunday)
- Twice Sheared Sheep Trunk Show August 1-9 (no TSS representative - purely an abundance of products, some of which we don't currently carry!)
- Door Prizes and a Grand Prize from each shop for completing the full crawl!
- We're
still pondering other fun things - but there will be snacks and community to enjoy!
Each shop has their own events, so check out the HAK Website, gather up some friends and get your road trip planned!

I progressed a bit more on my July Project for Camp Loopy - Moon Moth by Natalie Meredith.I will say 18+ hours of driving doesn't make for a lot of knitting time (that is, if you are doing all the driving). BUT, I am in the colorwork section and close to splitting for the sleeves, so I call that a win.
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine and the Loopy Ewe Crew
