What's New at The Loopy Ewe?

We are all back from the epic midwest trip (Bob and the kids were in Indiana & Wisconsin for the past week), so we're trying to get things back to some semblance of normal. Although, what IS normal, right? There is so much going on all the time. I'd love to just slow down a bit!!! I thought August would be the time for that, but then I realized with the Hot August Knits yarn crawl, Luca's birthday, Roslyn's School of Rock
Concert, school starting, getting all these gnome goodies squared away, and much more going on in the background, August will not, in fact, be more relaxed. It might even be busier. 😳😅🧶.
As a side note, while on our trip, my sister gave me 2 old sock blockers that she found at an estate sale - not anything fancy, but I think they look great hanging with a couple of the other sock blockers we've collected and displayed in our sit and knit area. Thanks Michelle! 🧦🧦🧦🧦🧦.

We've dabbled in a few things from CocoKnits, but just got in a few more fun new treasures. From Stitch Markers to Stitch Stops to Magnetic Maker's Boards. We're loving it! What I especially appreciate about Coco Knits products is how absolutely functional AND classy they are. They certainly elevate the craft! For in store purchase only, we also have a limited number of blocking mat sets.

Cascade introduced new colors in their 220 and 220 Superwash. We got them all. Shannon has been doing such a great job creating and selecting new colors for these line ups. There are already so many options, I'm not sure how she manages to find these gaps where new colors slide right in. It IS always fun to get new colors. It inspires so many new project ideas!

2026 December Mystery Gnome-Along
|
Pre-order season for the December Mystery Gnome Knit-Along, Wee Three Gnomes, from Sarah Schira of Imagined Landscapes continues through August 4. That means just 1 week left to finalize your orders. We have Yarn Sets, Goodie Sets and some very fun Extras . Full details are on our Blog Post HERE. Get yours ordered before our order window closes! AND we have a new/late item added for your consideration!
Andrew of 618 Laser Creations crafted a beautiful Gnome Sleigh for us. We know it's late, but if you leave an order note or send us an email, we can combine it with any previous pre-orders you've already made to combine shipping. This little sleigh would be great for holding any holiday decor, but gnomes sit atop it just right.
Little Squirrel Yarn dyed up 4 color set options in 2 weights (choose from Fingering or DK) this year. We also have a delight-filled Goodie Set again this year to pair with the Wee Three Gnomes Knit-Along. The Goodie Set contains 12 wrapped and numbered surprise packages for you!
We've brought back the popular Gnome Finishing Set, and have broken out a few popular items for sale individually. We also have Gnome bases on offer this year as a set of three. They may not be necessary if you opt to hang your gnomes as ornaments. That said, if ornaments are your plan, we have Gnome Beaded Ornament Hangers too!! You decide what you want to do! Details for this year’s knit-along can be found on the imagined landscapes website.

Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl
|
SAVE THE DATE!!! The Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl runs August 1-9 this year. All shops will be open at least 10-5 EVERY DAY between August 1-9. It's about a week shorter than in past years, but you still have 2 full weekends to complete the crawl. It's HAK's Sweet 16 celebration. You won't want to miss out! There are some super 'sweet' extras, and the mini skeins this year are beautiful.
What do we have planned? - Little Squirrel Yarn Trunk Show August 1-2
- Necessary Pancakes Trunk Show August 1-2 (Bags will stay the full week but Lizz will only be there Saturday & Sunday)
- Twice Sheared Sheep Trunk Show August 1-9 (no TSS representative - purely an abundance of products, some of which we don't currently carry!)
- Door Prizes and a Grand Prize from each shop for completing the full crawl!
- We're
still pondering other fun things - but there will be snacks and community to enjoy!
Each shop has their own events, so check out the HAK Website, gather up some friends and get your road trip planned!

I am knitting away on my July Project for Camp Loopy - Moon Moth by Natalie Meredith. It may not be finished by the July 31 deadline. I still have the top of the second sleeve, sewing it all together and picking up and making the collar. It will be close, but. . . there is a lot going on right now, and I'm not sure I'll get there! I plan to just do the best I can and get as far as possible. I am using The Uncommon Thread Merino DK. Always a treat.
My store sample for the miniskeins that will be available for the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl was on hold. BUT you can see how beautifully all the colors come together. Dawn with MakerWool did a fantastic job with the colors this year. The pattern is The Simply Scrappy Cowl by Helen Stewart. It's simple enough for your knitting group, but pretty enough to keep you engaged.
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine and the Loopy Ewe Crew
