This past week has been much more relaxed, thank goodness! I feel as though I may have finally caught my breath. That's not to say that we aren't still working hard here, we just have a reasonable proportion of rest periods interspersed!
A couple mornings, I even had time to sit in the back yard and enjoy a morning coffee Delightful. It was a treat to see the yellow finches enjoying our self-seeded sunflowers! I love it when our yard provides a safe space for these little critters!
School starts this week. 😳 We have a Senior and a Sophomore, so it's bound to be the start of a busy, emotional year. We'll be going through a lot of the happy-sad moments of parenthood 🥰😭🥳.

Little Squirrel Yarn - August Edition!
|
Sarah brought in her lovely August sock set - Brand New Trapper Keeper. As always, it's perfection. So pretty. Greens and purples and FUN. A great homage to the excitement of a new school year - school shopping, notebooks, highlighters, TRAPPER KEEPERS. . . We have this in both Fingering and DK options, so choose your favorite weight!

We also entered all the restocks of Malabrigo Sock - so the website should be up to date on them. Whew. There may be a few color ways with no picture yet, as we had to retake photos to ensure the website photos look like the yarn we currently have in stock, and I believe there were a few new colors! The struggle is real with Malabrigo, but we do our best. Honestly, despite inconsistency in the actual color of skeins from
batch to batch, they are insanely consistent with it always being a beautiful, soft and delightful yarn to work with!

Nicole of Mountain Essentials sent a fresh stock of Lotions (2, 4 and 8 oz) and Soaps, and I forgot to mention it last week! Never fear, it's still here and it's still fabulous. I really love the Goat's milk lotions and soaps. They are fantastic for the skin. The lotions soak right in and don't leave you with a greasy feeling after you use them. The soaps lather up great and make your skin feel fabulous!

Lemonwood continuously comes up with beautiful designs and options. Dang it Veronica and Colm - I have so little power to resist. We've brought in new styles of their Mini Minder, Whirl, and Acrylic Whirl. They are so pretty. AND functional. I love my Mini Minder and Whirl!

It was another week of fun finished projects in the store!
Alison brought in her Ranunculus by Midori Hirose. She knit hers using Sirdar Jewelspun Aran. It turned out great! Each time I see a Ranunculus, it looks different from the others I've seen - this one with stripes is gorgeous. Such a fun pattern!
Blair wore in a gorgeous sweater she made using Little Squirrel Yarn yarn ) Oak Sock) from the Summer Solstice Box. It turned out so great! I only wish I had remembered what the pattern she used was. . . . if you are interested, I can definitely ask and get back to you! Send me an email.
Eleanor shared her socks made with Malabrigo Sock with us. Again. Failure on my part to remember the pattern name. They turned out GREAT! I love the patterning, and the Malabrigo color? Beautiful.
Loopy Kudos to you all!

The sides have come together on my Carrot Patch Sweater by Svetlana Gibadullina. I feel like it's been a lot of knitting and yarn ball strategizing along the way. I am definitely not as far as I would like, but that is ok. I am enjoying the process still, and that's what it's all about, right? I think I have about 3 more carrot rows on the body and then the ribbing (and, of course, then on to the
sleeves. ..) I'm using The Uncommon Thread Corriedale held together with The Uncommon Thread Divine Lace (or Urth Yarns Bonmoher for the carrots). Have I mentioned that I love these yarns? The carrots are the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. Aaannnddd now I want carrot cake. Dang.
My mini skeins cowl for the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl did not see any action this week. The yarn is MakerWool fingering. The pattern I am using is The Simply Scrappy Cowl by Helen Stewart. This will get done as soon as my carrot obsession subsides a bit.
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine & the Loopy Ewe Crew
