Goodness gracious. This week was all about MILESTONES. We celebrated a 15th birthday (how is my baby boy 15??!!). We had senior photos taken (who is this gorgeous girl graduating this year??!!). The Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl shop owners met to conclude the 2026 Sweet 16 celebration. Such a good group. The northern front range is lucky to have such a line up of local yarn shops! This week brought a lot of schedule Jenga, but also a full heart and good
memories. I hope you also had a fantastic week.

These Felting Kits from WoolBuddy are so stinking cute. The frog had my heart from the moment I saw him. This little guy reminds me of the Disney movie, The Princess and the Frog (though he is a bit more ... rotund ... than the animated version), which was my daughter's favorite movie for a long time. If a firefly was available, you can bet he would have been here too. Alas. . .
Good
memories. I also just adore the farm animals and tiny owls. So much cuteness!

These fun Zipper Pouches from Primitives by Kathy have fantastically fun and motivating sayings, beautiful colors and are ideal little coin or notions pouches! They are made of post consumer material - so a reuse of waste made into something functional is a clear win in my book! There are a couple different sizes to choose from.

Loopy Garden Camp - Final Week!
|
In less than a week, Camp Loopy 2026 will be complete - another year of camp in the books! Don't loose motivation, though, you still have almost a full week. A lot can be accomplished in the homestretch! Loopy Garden Camp has brought so many fun projects to my attention. You all inspire me! Be sure to get your projects emailed to [email protected] by September 1 to get credit for your projects. It will take us a week or two to get all the projects entered and then rewards tallied. Once we do, we'll let you know next steps for receiving your well-earned goodies!

We still have Winter Solstice Boxes available for pre-order. These will ship out the first week of December, and pre-orders will close the end of October. This is our final Equinox-Solstice box of 2026. If you'd like to see what types of items come in these boxes, you can check out the unboxings on YouTube for the Spring and Summer Boxes. We've had such a good time with these, and we're planning more fun for next year. I'd love to hear feedback if you got the boxes this year, or if you have certain themes or items you'd love to see in a future quarterly box!

It's time to figure out what we are doing for a knit along this fall! My thought is to start September with a smaller project that takes less time - like felted slippers while we figure out a project for October -- December. I have a washing machine at the shop that we can try to use for felting all together at the end? I've used the Felted Clogs by Bev Galeskas many times. OR the Sailor Slippers by Annie Germaine are fun.Thoughts? Any interested parties? OR, I'm open to any and all suggestions! We won't be able to meet the first Sunday of September, though, as that is Labor Day weekend.

Project parades make me so happy, and we had some great items march through this week. This reminds me that sit & knit regular, Nicole, suggested (a long time ago 😬) we have a fashion show where folks can show off their garments. I struggle to wrap my mind around how to organize an event like that - to get folks interested and here to participate. Thoughts are welcome!
Sandy brought in 4 pairs of socks all knit using Little Squirrel Yarn! They turned out beautifully. Great yarn, talented knitter, and lovely patterns! The image with 2 pairs of socks is the pattern Golden Fern Socks by Fox&Folk (Norah Long). The other 2 images feature a modified version (cable extended and colorwork omitted) of the Transatlantic Socks by Virginia Sattler-Reimer.
Theresa brought in her lovely Coastal Lace Crochet Top by Stitched Stone. She made this one with Feza Alp Natural. It turned out so great!
Loopy Kudos to you all!

I almost finished the body on my Carrot Patch Sweater by Svetlana Gibadullina. Just the tubular bind off on the body and then sleeves and collar to go! I'm using The Uncommon Thread Corriedale held together with The Uncommon Thread Divine Lace (or Urth Yarns Bonmoher for the carrots). I love this delightful yarn. I may have to disappoint those asking me to put a rabbit somewhere on the sweater. I just didn't get around to trying to figure that charting out!
My mini skeins cowl for the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl saw a very few rows during the trek around the Environmental Learning Center for Roz's senior pictures. (As an aside, If you are local and looking for a great photographer, Kimball Nelson Photography is FANTASTIC. Kim is so personable and really listens to what you want!) Anywho, the yarn for this cowl is MakerWool fingering. The pattern I am using is The Simply Scrappy Cowl by Helen Stewart. This will get done as soon as my carrot obsession subsides a bit.
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine & the Loopy Ewe Crew
