We felt so lucky to be able to enjoy the lunar eclipse last Thursday! We had nice weather and clear skies. I hope some of you did too. Roz got the picture above using just her iphone and a pair of binoculars. I was pretty impressed. It was such a treat to be out looking at the sky together. I don't know how things work in your household, but in ours, by about 9:30 pm we are all usually in our own rooms sleeping (me), doing homework (Roz), reading
(Bob) or playing video games (get off the computer, Luca!!!). So, it was very nice to have a small bit of extra time together.

Cascade 220 Superwash Restocked!
|
I love it so much when the Cascade 220 Superwash wall is full. These wooly donuts make me happy in all their colorful splendor. If you were looking for a specific color, now might be the time to get an order in, because I think we have almost all of them! Cascade is such a great yarn for children's items and for for throws/blankets. It's great, actually, for anything you want to be able
to throw in the washer - a fantastic superwash yarn in the DK/Worsted realm!

Toliver's Handmade Cuticle Oil
|
We included this amazing Cuticle Oil from Toliver's Handmades in one of our Gnome Goodie Sets last year, and people liked it so much we brought it in for purchase on its own! It has a super convenient applicator - a tube with a brush. You twist the end to get the cuticle oil to dispense to the brush (I'll be honest, it almost didn't get a chance with me b/c it took A LOT of twists
to get started - but it was worth the effort). Then just brush it on your cuticles and nail beds! Neat, convenient, and effective at moisturizing those cuticles!

OK. I did not get much of a response for this one, but I'm still going to knit a pair of felted slippers in September while I figure out what's going on for a knit along after that. (Karen, I'd LOVE to knit some Sailor slippers with you!)
PLEASE let me know what you are interested in making! If you are interested in slippers and making decisions on what the next knit along should be (or not making slippers and working on whatever you are currently working on), I propose a Sunday, September 13 knit together 1-3 pm at the shop. Let me know if you will attend, as I won't be there unless I hear from at least one person!

We are going to be donating lap blankets to Loveland Meals on Wheels again this year. I already have two that people have given me! thank you Mary Kay and Anna! I'm working on mine (I promise it will be done before December). We will need these in the store by December 1 so we can get them to the Meals on Wheels folks for distribution. Look at Last year's donation! 👇

So much good inspiration this week!
Doris brought in her jaw-dropping Anthology Throw by Helen Stewart. She used a big mix of fingering weight yarns, but I know Malabrigo Sock is represented somewhere in there! This is just such an epic project. I LOVE it!!!
Shawn brought in her lovely Bukett Shawl by Linnea Ornstein. She made this with a Baby Cat Yarns Sport and Little Squirrel Yarn Acorns. It turned out so pretty! Just a friendly reminder that mixing yarn types sometimes makes the most beautiful projects! I love it when people have the confidence to mix things up!
Rebekah brought in 2 sweaters she made from CamaRose Pimabomuld. So fun! They were Meris Tee by Hanna | HERBGARDEN knitwear and Extra Lite Bright by Wool&Pine. They turned out so well! This cotton is the softest, and Rebekah did such a great job with both of these!
Rainette brought in her Larimer County Fair prize-winning Happy 4th of July Shawl (Flag) by KathCo Designs. She made hers using Cascade Ultra Pima. It's beautiful! Congratulations on your grand prize!
Loopy Kudos to you all!

Well, my Carrot Patch Sweater by Svetlana Gibadullina hit a bit of a snag when I picked up stitches for the sleeve (per pattern instructions) and it doesn't seem to be the right number for my arm hole. Check out my picture 👇 and the puckering. I guess my gauge could be different going from flat to in the round on the sleeve, but I definitely need more stitches to make this look right.
This project was in time out over the weekend while I muddle through what I need to do. I know I need to frog the 2 rows of carrots I did and start over, but I'll have to decide whether I need to add 8 or 16 stitches (8 stitch pattern repeat). OR, I'm debating on whether to just make this a vest. . . I'm using The Uncommon Thread Corriedale held together with The Uncommon Thread Divine Lace (or Urth Yarns Bonmoher for the carrots). The yarn is delightful.
I finally finished my mini skeins cowl for the Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl!!! The yarn for this cowl is MakerWool fingering. The pattern I am using is The Simply Scrappy Cowl by Helen Stewart. I feel like it turned out great - just a month later than it should have!
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine & the Loopy Ewe Crew
