Another eventful week. Bob celebrated a birthday (love you Bobby!). We calculate that he's now spent over half his life with me. What a lucky guy π. It has definitely been a grand adventure.
I sent out an off-cycle email on Friday, but I'll mention it again here. We're in the running for Top 10 Yarn Retailers at USA Today. It really only came to my attention thanks to an email from a customer (and after voting had been going 11 days). At that point, we were at #18 out of 19 (to be fair, I had gotten an email from USA Today, but it was buried in my inbox π¬). As of this morning, we were #5. Thank you all SO much for the boost!
I'm hoping for top 3, so if you have a moment, you could give us a vote HERE. AND you can vote once a day through September 28th.
Our puppies both were adopted on Saturday at Colorado Puppy Rescue. We weren't surprised, but a little sad not to get to spend more time with them!! We will have more to love on soon πΆπ₯°.

From first sight, I knew Chemisfree Eden Cotton, would be a great addition for the store. This yarn is a super soft, hand-spun, 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton yarn. Being hand-spun, it has a slightly thick-thin texture. The yarns are dyed naturally with plant-based materials and produced without synthetic chemicals or fibers. Eden Cotton is designed to be gentle in every sense. This sustainable yarn is ideal for sensitive skin and eco-conscious knitters or crocheters. Due to the natural dying process, colors may vary among dye lots, so make sure to get enough for your project if color match is essential. It'd also be great for your favorite baby blanket, sweater or shawl.

Little Squirrel Yarn Monthly Sock Set
|
We have Little Squirrel Yarn's September Sock Set, Berry-Navy. It's available in both Fingering and DK. This month's color showcases a beautiful blue with fun pink and blue speckles. I love the pop of pink that the mini skein contribute to coordinate with the pink in the main skein! Such a pretty combination. This is going to make some beautiful projects.

PARKING LOT DISRUPTION NOTICE!!!! Our building owner is having the tree by the end of the building closest to Lincoln removed on Thursday, 17 September. This will mean that most of our parking up front will not be available until they are done (they say around 1 pm). We do have parking around back - but you'll have to enter through the back door - ring the doorbell for entrance, or we have permission to
use the parking lot for Federal Reserve Credit Union across 16th street.
KNITTED KNOCKERS EVENT! On October 10, 1-3 pm we'll host a Knitted Knockers event. We'll have yarn (thanks for the donations Cascade Yarns!) and patterns for both knit and crocheted knockers. Gretchen and MaryKaye will be here to help you out!

We met on Sunday and started slippers - yay! AND we decided that we're doing a blanket knit/crochet/make along (lap blankets mostly, but whatever you like!). You can do a scrappy blanket, one that's been in your queue forever, or your choice! Join us next meeting on October 4, 1-3 pm! Once again - I have no pictures, b/c I am terrible at remembering to bring my phone out for anything other than adding patterns to my favorites in
Ravelry . . . I should have taken pictures of some of the blankets folks brought in so I could show them here! We'll get started on our blankets October 4 and work on them through December!
A couple ideas for blankets that came up include:

Kathy brought in her Laura Pullover by The Lamb & Kid Designs. She made hers using Dream in Color Smooshy held together with Urth Yarns Bonmoher. It turned out so great! It was an unexpected (to me) combination of colors that ended up coming together so well. π
Emily shared her Zipper Sweater (PetiteKnit) made using Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Tweed. SO gorgeous. Now I need to get brave enough to add a zipper to a knit. Thanks for this inspiration Emily!
Loopy Kudos to you both!

My Carrot Patch Sweater by Svetlana Gibadullina remained in time out this past week. It's made using The Uncommon Thread Corriedale held together with The Uncommon Thread Divine Lace (or Urth Yarns Bonmoher for the carrots).
My Klein Pause blanket by Susanne Shahin didn't get much work this past week, but I'll start working on that during sit & knit/knit night. It's being made with Sirdar Jewelspun Aran.
I completed about half of the second sock for my I Heart Harvest Sock pattern by Shelley Stone. It's knit up using one of Little Squirrel Yarn's Sock Sets from almost a year ago. I love it!
As I mentioned, I cast on for felted slippers. I'm planning 2 pairs, but the first will be the Felted Clogs by Bev Galeskas (Fiber Trends). I'm using Cascade 220. It's a fantastic yarn for felting! I'm using Mardi Gras colors for Bob - owing to his New Orleans obsession these days. . .
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine & the Loopy Ewe Crew
