What's New at The Loopy Ewe?

Another week has flown by, and suddenly we are in the midst of fall. Changing (and even falling) leaves, cool, crisp mornings, and shorter days. What a fantastic start to sweater weather. I've been waiting impatiently, and now it's here! I have too many projects I want to do, though, so narrowing that list down is going to be a challenge. Also a challenge? Finding TIME to knit with our current house guests.
We now have three 4-week-old puppies in our care. Shellington, Goldie and Bear. They are so cute and getting very playful, but they are SO MUCH WORK!!! It's getting easier as they are starting to sleep longer between wanting to eat, but. . . still. It's a lot. AND Shelley was super fussy last night and woke me up no less than 4 times between 11 pm and 5 am. As such, please forgive any typos in this newsletter. I'm not sure my brain is fully
functional!

Little Squirrel Yarn Monthly Sock Set
|
This month's sock set from Little Squirrel Yarn is Purple People Eater. It's gorgeous! I love the fantastic juxtaposition of purple, orange and green. It's a perfect color for the month. Get yours in Fingering or DK weight! If you are a fan of all things SOctober (Sock-tober?), Purple People Eater is perfect for getting a pair on the needles this month!

Restocked Cascade Ultra Pima
|
The Cascade Ultra Pima section was honestly looking a bit shabby, but we have it shipshape again, and ready for any of your best cotton projects! Ultra Pima is a lovely soft DK weight mercerized Pima Cotton. It's approved for use to make Knitted Knockers, so if you come to our event this Saturday 10:30-3, you'll see it there (thank you Cascade for the generous donation!!)! It's also great for sweaters, home decor, children's clothings, baby blankets and more!

We've created a new "Last Call" section on our website for yarns that have been discontinued or that we won't be carrying anymore in the near future. Check it out and see if you can find a deal on some great yarn!

Reminder - Winter Solstice Boxes!
|
We'll be closing the Winter Solstice Box purchases on October 31, or once we reach our limit. These will ship out the first week of December. I'm using photos of the fall box to give you an idea of how the boxes look when they come. The winter box will be, of course, a winter theme. It's been so fun to put these together! We can't wait to get this next one
out! I STILL need to make a video unboxing the fall box!

It was a week for red sweaters it seems! Such a great color for fall.
Jennifer wore in a beautiful Stick Season Sweater (Rebecca Clow). She made hers using Rowan Felted Tweed. I just love it!
Crystal brought in a beautiful sweater made using Cascade Ultra Pima - she designed it herself! So gorgeous.
Marge and I finished our Felted Clogs by Bev Galeskas (Fiber Trends). We both used Cascade 220. I love them! AND I love the color that Marge chose for hers! So pretty!
Loopy Kudos!!

Well, I lied when I told you I would get somewhere on this last week. My Carrot Patch Sweater by Svetlana Gibadullina in fact saw no action. I'm hoping this is the week it gets back on track!! It's made using The Uncommon Thread Corriedale held together with The Uncommon Thread Divine Lace (or Urth Yarns Bonmoher for the carrots). It's scrumptious.
My Klein Pause blanket by Susanne Shahin got some love at Sit & Knit this past week, so it's a bit farther along! It's being made with Sirdar Jewelspun Aran. Slow and steady is the plan
I felted my slippers with Marge on Sunday ๐๐๐๐๐. Yay! The pattern is Felted Clogs by Bev Galeskas (Fiber Trends). I used Cascade 220 in fun Mardi Gras colors. I love the magic of felting.
I also started my blanket for our fall blanket knit along (if you don't know about it, you can still join us. We're just making blankets)! I'm making Kitties on my Lap Blanket by Magda Stryk Therrien using CamaRose Yaku. This yarn has sadly been discontinued, but I love it, and I had stashed this rainbow combination for a baby blanket that I never made a few years back. I've only gotten one strip of kitties and the start of a second done, but I love it already! I'm making a baby blanket size for a friend!
Have an excellent and creative week! Kristine & the Loopy Ewe Crew
